I came across this cute little apartment and just had to share.  This goes to show that you can have function and style…but without a lot of space.

This is a multi level, 425 square foot New York apartment. When the homeowner bought the unit on the Upper West Side in 1994 it was like a studio apartment with roof access. It’s hard to imagine that this space could be turned into something amazing.

Thanks to a clever architect, the space was given a new life and made to look like more square footage, by adding levels within the 12 foot ceilings.

The sunken kitchen and bathroom leads up to the main living room space.

The staircase leading up to level three doubles as storage.

The bedroom is very open with high ceilings and lots of light from the windows overlooking the roof.

I love seeing creative works such as this. What a fun place to live in such a great city!
